Meidani Scientific Book Series Promoted at Academy of Sciences Conference

The Academy of Sciences of Albania held an international scientific conference in Tirana on Monday. The event marked the promotion of the new scientific book series by academician Rexhep Meidani.

To begin with, participants gathered to discuss key themes in modern physics, ranging from elementary particles to the structure of the universe. The discussion focused on space, time, matter, and motion as fundamental concepts.

In this context, speakers emphasized that Meidani’s four-volume work reflects long academic and research experience. They also noted that the books aim to strengthen scientific thinking in Albania.

Following the opening remarks, Academy of Sciences chairman Skënder Gjinushi addressed the audience. He underlined the institution’s role in promoting scientific excellence and supporting young researchers.

Moreover, he stressed that the publications could help attract young people to natural sciences and reduce brain drain. At the same time, he warned about the declining interest in fundamental sciences despite rapid technological progress.

Afterward, Meidani presented his own research on the universe, matter, space-time, and motion. He described physics as a self-organizing system that connects all natural phenomena.

Subsequently, international and Albanian scholars delivered lectures on topics such as the Higgs boson, dark energy, and complex systems. These presentations expanded the discussion to cutting-edge areas of modern physics.

Finally, doctoral students presented their research findings in various fields of physics. As a result, the conference served as a platform for scientific exchange and strengthened cooperation between Albanian and international academic institutions.
