Exhibition on 100th birth anniversary of jurist, political scientist, academic Arben Puto

On the 100th anniversary of the birth of jurist, political scientist, and academic Arben Puto (1924-2016), the National Library of Albania opened an exhibition yesterday. This exhibition highlights his contributions to the fields of law, history, and Albanian diplomacy.
Arben Puto was born in Gjirokastër. He attended the National Lyceum (French) in Korçë and, after its closure, continued his studies at the “Châteaubriant” Lyceum in Rome. He participated in the National Liberation Anti-Fascist War. After the liberation, he completed his secondary education at Tirana Gymnasium (1946) and pursued higher education at the Faculty of Law at Moscow University (1951).
Puto worked in the legal sector of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1951–1957) and was a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the University of Tirana (1957–1990), where he taught International Law. He was actively involved in the democratic processes after the 1990s, chairing the Albanian Helsinki Committee from its inception (1990) with interruptions until 2000.
This exhibition showcases Professor Arben Puto’s publications over the years on legal issues and the diplomatic history of the Albanian question, available in Albanian, English, and French in the collections of the National Library of Albania.
The exhibition is open to the public in the Scientific Hall of the National Library.
