The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, released data from cultural heritage institutions (museums, castles, and archaeological sites) regarding visitor numbers for the first five months of 2024.

The national museums experienced the highest increase in visitor numbers, with more than a 71% rise compared to the previous year. From January to May, 148,156 people visited the national museums.

Meanwhile, visits to castles and cultural monuments reached 60.1%, with 66,323 visitors.

The first five months of the year also brought numerous visitors to the archaeological parks, which were visited by 136,293 people from January to May. Compared to the previous year, this represents a 53.3% increase.
