Scientific Conference to Mark the 25 Years of Kosova Liberation

Albanian Academy of Sciences announced the start of a scientific conference celebrating the 25th anniversary of NATO’s intervention and the freeing of Kosova.
Attending the scientific conference in Prishtina were Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Mehmet Kraja from Kosovan Academy of Science and Arts, Skënder Gjinushi from Albanian Academy of Sciences, along with former presidents Fatmir Sejdiu of Kosova and Alfred Moisiu of Albania, among other participants.
This conference marks a significant moment in Albanian history, NATO’s entry in Kosova 25 years ago, leading to its independence and marking the end of a 100-year cycle of Albanians’ independence in Albania and Kosova.
Gjinushi noted the event’s celebratory, commemorative, and appreciative aspects, as well as its historical significance in reflecting on the choices and roles of the Albanian people and various factors, both domestic and international.
On the other hand, Kraja highlighted the importance of Kosova’s liberation as the second most significant event in 20th-century Albanian history, after Albania’s independence.
He emphasized how the fight for Kosova fundamentally changed perspectives on freedom, democracy, and self-governance, globally acknowledging the rights of nations and the dignity of all people.
