Snow has covered Gjeravica Peak in Kosovo during the height of summer, creating an unusual landscape for this time of year.

The 2,656-metre-high peak in the Accursed Mountains (Bjeshkët e Nemuna) now shows a rare contrast between summer greenery and fresh snow.

The Directorate for the Administration of the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park shared photos of the snowy mountain, highlighting the area’s unique natural beauty.

The authorities said the phenomenon shows the special character of the national park. They also noted that weather conditions can change within hours at high alpine altitudes.

The Directorate called on visitors to stay careful during their trips, respect nature and help protect this natural treasure for future generations.
