Kosova and France sign five agreements to strengthen bilateral ties

TIRANA, July 28 – Kosova’s acting Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca hosted France’s Minister Delegate for Europe Benjamin Haddad in Pristina, where the two sides signed five agreements.

Konjufca said France has remained an important partner of Kosova since the country declared independence. He added that the agreements, including a letter of intent, would give a new dimension to bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, the two officials discussed Kosova’s European perspective as well. Konjufca said Kosova remains committed to democratic reforms, the rule of law and alignment with European Union foreign and security policies.

He added that Kosova has made its strategic choice and that choice is Europe and the European Union.

Haddad said his visit would give new momentum to relations between France and Kosova. He highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries and said France supports stronger cooperation with Kosova.

The French minister also brought several French companies and representatives from the French Development Agency (AFD) to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

Haddad said the five agreements would support long-term cooperation and create new opportunities in trade and investment. He added that AFD has already committed €80 million to Kosova’s energy transition and efforts to address climate change.
