Foreign ministry: Mass grave in Kalludër shows need for justice in Kosova

TIRANA, August 3 – Albania’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs reacted to the discovery of another mass grave in Kalludër, Kosova. The ministry said the finding is a painful reminder that the wounds of the war remain open.
In a statement posted on X, the ministry said every new discovery represents both a step toward identifying the victims and evidence of crimes committed during the war. It added that the recovered remains highlight the need to establish the truth, ensure accountability, and deliver justice.
Meanwhile, the ministry noted that each identification brings dignity, truth, and justice to families who have waited for more than two decades to learn the fate of their missing relatives.
In addition, the ministry reaffirmed Albania’s support for Kosova’s efforts to determine the fate of missing persons, secure justice, and preserve the historical truth.
The statement concluded that lasting reconciliation cannot exist without the truth.
