Albania and Slovenia focus on mountain tourism and wood processing

Albania and Slovenia aim to expand economic cooperation and create new investment partnerships. Mountain tourism and wood processing are among the sectors in focus. The business forum “Slovenia–Albania: An Economic Bridge” took place in Celje as part of MOS Fair 2026. Laura Saro, executive director of the Albanian Investment Development Agency, attended the event. The forum discussed opportunities for economic cooperation and partnerships between the business communities of the two countries.
Saro later met Leon Korosec, state secretary at Slovenia’s Ministry of the Economy, Labour and Sport. They discussed sectors with investment potential in Albania, particularly mountain tourism. Meanwhile, the two sides highlighted the importance of stronger cooperation between the Albanian Investment Development Agency and SPIRIT Slovenia. The Slovenian side also expressed readiness to take part in forums and other activities in Tirana.
Wood processing also featured in the discussions. The talks focused on knowledge exchange, innovation, value-added products and the potential of the Albanian market.
SPIRIT Slovenia and the Institute for Strategic Solutions organized the forum as part of MOS Fair 2026. The fair is taking place in Celje from September 16 to 20.
