A joint decision for the unification of the texts for teaching the Albanian language in the Diaspora was signed between the Albanian Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu and the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosova, Arbërie Nagavci,.

This decision between the two ministries ensures that the second-level text “Albanian language and Albanian culture” is available for Albanian children who learn the Albanian language in Diaspora schools.

“We have finalized a long work by experts and researchers of two countries, Albania and Kosova, relative to the joint text “Albanian language and Albanian culture”, level II, for the age groups of 4-6 forms.  It will be in the hands of Albanian children abroad in different countries, starting with the new academic year 2024-2025. We also start the competition for the text of level III, a work that we want to finalize also within this year, thus concluding all cycles of common texts,” said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.

The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosova, Arbërie Nagavci, thanking Minister Manastirliu, emphasized the good cooperation between the two ministries, the result of which is the joint text “Albanian language and Albanian culture”.

“We successfully complete a long, not easy job, which ended with a very important and valuable product for all our children living abroad, ” said the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosova, Arbërie Nagavci.

In the year that Albania has announced as the Year of the Albanian Language, the cooperation between the two countries takes on even more special importance. The joint activities developed, which include seminars, conferences and joint publications, testify to the concretization of this cooperation.

The cooperation between Albania and Kosova is expected to intensify even further, with the soon ratification in the Assembly of the agreement in the field of higher education and scientific research. This agreement paves the way for an even closer and effective cooperation, including joint research and scientific projects and the provision of support for students of the two countries with 30 scholarships, in order for young people to have the opportunity to study both sides of the border.

The Ministers of Education of both countries also emphasized the importance of joint activities in the Diaspora and the use of the potential of teachers and academics living abroad. This will help in strengthening the cultural and linguistic identity of the Albanian Diaspora, and in promoting national values ​​and international cooperation.
