Minister of Interior Ervin Demo held a courtesy meeting with Montenegro’s Minister of Public Administration, Marash Dukaj, on Wednesday.

The two officials discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Albania and Montenegro. They also focused on local government and the region’s European path.

Demo highlighted local government as an area where the two countries share responsibilities. He also stressed the need to exchange experiences and strengthen bilateral cooperation.

“Local government is one of the responsibilities we share. It is also an area where we have significant room to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation between our two countries,” Demo said.

Meanwhile, the two ministers also discussed the region’s European integration process. Demo highlighted the important contribution of Albanians in Montenegro to this process.

In addition, he said their representation in Montenegro remains particularly important when it produces concrete work and results.

“It is a representation that makes us proud, especially when it translates into concrete work and results,” Demo said.

The meeting also addressed opportunities for further cooperation in public administration and local government. Both sides highlighted the value of exchanging knowledge, experience and good practices.
