Culture and diplomacy took center stage at the “Diplomacy and Culture – Greece” meeting, organized by the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD). Greek Ambassador to Albania Elina Komini attended the event as a guest.

The meeting explored the role of culture and diplomacy in strengthening international relations and overcoming stereotypes.

Participants also discussed continued cooperation between Greece and Albania in cultural diplomacy. They highlighted the importance of dialogue and exchanges in strengthening understanding between the two countries.

During a dedicated session on “Fighting Stereotypes,” Ambassador Komini shared personal reflections on gender stereotypes in diplomacy and society.

She stressed that prejudice can affect both women and men. Therefore, she underlined the need to confront stereotypes and prevent them from shaping people’s personal or professional paths.

“Character and competence have no gender,” Komini said during the meeting.

According to the ambassador, achievements should not depend on gender. Instead, individuals should shape their paths through their character, competence and the choices they make.

Meanwhile, the discussion at COD highlighted the value of open dialogue and exchanging experiences. Such exchanges can help challenge prejudice and build stronger relationships in both society and diplomacy.
