Prime Minister Edi Rama addressed the eighth meeting of the European Council of Corporations in New York, discussing the links between peace, economic development and the prospects of future generations.

Rama described the meeting as a platform for different perspectives and experiences. He said peace should not be viewed as a diplomatic achievement that comes before economic development. In his view, peace represents a political condition that economic development can make possible.

He also said societies should measure progress by the opportunities they leave for future generations. Rama stressed that this horizon extends beyond individual countries to the wider world.

Meanwhile, the prime minister called for greater dialogue and exchange of ideas. He said Europe has a wealth of experience and ideas that it has not yet fully adopted or applied.
