Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met Anton Hofreiter, chairman of the German Bundestag Committee on European Union Affairs, in Tirana on Monday.

Hoxha said the meeting provided an opportunity to assess Albania’s progress through its reform agenda on the path to EU membership. He said Germany has consistently supported Albania throughout its European journey. The minister also welcomed Germany’s support for a merit-based EU enlargement process and its role in promoting a credible European perspective for the Western Balkans.

The meeting also reaffirmed relations between Albania and Germany. Both sides highlighted continued cooperation, including parliamentary exchanges. Hoxha said the shared objective remains a stronger and more united Europe.
