Minister of Interior Ervin Demo met today with the European Union Ambassador to Albania, Sofia Moreira de Sousa, to discuss stronger cooperation in security and Albania’s priorities in the European integration process.

The meeting focused on EU support for strengthening the capacities of the State Police, combating organized crime and recovering criminal assets. The talks also addressed border and migration management in line with European standards and Schengen requirements.

Minister Demo stressed that, at this stage of the integration process, Albania’s goal is to build stronger institutions, strengthen inter-institutional and international cooperation, and deliver concrete, measurable and sustainable results.

“Partnership with the European Union will continue to support reforms and Albania’s progress on its path toward membership,” Demo said.
