The Lezhë coast attracted more holidaymakers during the 2026 summer season, with visits to the beaches of Shëngjin and Tale increasing by 14% compared with last year.

According to data from the Municipality of Lezhë, August recorded the highest number of visitors during the season. The number of holidaymakers increased by around 20% compared with August 2025.

“August was the best month we have seen over the years. Tourism operators estimate that visitor numbers increased by around 20% compared with 2025,” said Renaldo Xhanaj, Director of Tourism at the Municipality of Lezhë.

According to the municipality, visitors from Kosovo continued to make up the largest share of holidaymakers, accounting for 65% of the total. Meanwhile, foreign tourists represented around 20%.

International promotion and cooperation with travel agencies also contributed to the increase in foreign visitors.

“We are also seeing an increase in foreign tourists. Germans, Poles, Czechs and Italians are among the leading groups,” Xhanaj said.

He added that the promotion of Shëngjin and other destinations across Lezhë, together with improved services and competitive prices, helped attract more visitors.

“Shëngjin is receiving strong promotion, but so is the whole of Lezhë with all its attractions. This also reflects the improvements that tourism operators are making to their services,” Xhanaj said.

Meanwhile, Shëngjin and Tale have continued to expand their tourism and accommodation capacity. As a result, they are offering more opportunities for visitors and strengthening the Lezhë coast’s position as an important summer tourism destination in Albania.
