“Coffee at Noon,” a comedy by Croatian playwright Miro Gavran, took the stage at the Kujtim Spahivogli National Experimental Theatre in Tirana as part of Croatian Cultural Week.

The play, performed by Mladena Gavran and Vedran Komerički, tells the story of a mother and her son and follows their relationship over more than twenty years. Through conversations shared over coffee, the characters explore love, family, memory, the passage of time and relations between generations.

The performance combined humor and emotion, offering audiences moments of reflection on family bonds and the connection between parents and children.

Miro Gavran is among Croatia’s best-known contemporary writers. His works have been translated and staged in many countries, while his plays often focus on family life, human relationships and everyday experiences.

Through “Coffee at Noon,” Gavran presents a simple conversation that develops into a story about time, memory and family connections.
