Finland and Belarus, Albania’s rivals in Group C1 of the UEFA Nations League, played out a goalless draw in Helsinki today.

The match at Helsinki Olympic Stadium produced no goals despite efforts from both sides. Belarus thought it had taken the lead in the second half when Aleksandr Selyava found the net. However, VAR ruled out the goal.

Finland opened its Nations League campaign with a 7-0 away win against San Marino. Meanwhile, Belarus lost 2-0 to Albania in the group’s opening match in Tirana.

Following today’s draw, Finland moved to four points, while Belarus earned its first point of the campaign.

Albania could move to the top of the group depending on the result of the San Marino-Albania match. A victory would give the Red and Blacks six points from their opening two games and sole possession of first place in Group C1.

Albania will travel to face Finland on October 3. Finland and Belarus will meet again on October 6.
