European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen posted on social media platform X after meeting Prime Minister Edi Rama during her visit to Tirana.

“I am happy to start my Western Balkans tour in Albania,” von der Leyen wrote.

In her message, she praised the work on Albania’s European integration process. She also stressed the importance of reforms and dialogue with society.

“Dear Edi Rama, you are working hard to turn Albania’s European dream into reality. Focusing on reforms, from justice to the environment, is key. At the same time, maintaining strong dialogue with society remains important,” the European Commission president said.

Finally, von der Leyen added: “The goal is within reach. This is how we will achieve it.”
