Foreign Minister Hoxha in Montenegro: Enlargement supports a more stable Europe

Foreign Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha takes part in the Berlin Process Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Przno, Montenegro. He reaffirms Albania’s commitment to a safer, more competitive and better-connected Western Balkans.

Hoxha says Western Balkan security and European security are inseparable. He describes enlargement as a response to today’s geopolitical challenges. He says the process must remain merit-based and rely on meaningful reforms. Hoxha also calls enlargement a strategic investment in Europe’s long-term security, stability and competitiveness.

Meanwhile, Hoxha says European integration starts at home, well before membership. He highlights practical cooperation, mobility and people-to-people contacts. He also points to mutual recognition of diplomas, connectivity and the Regional Common Market. Hoxha says these measures improve citizens’ lives. They strengthen regional ties and bring Western Balkan societies closer to the European Union.
