The United States has reaffirmed its role as Albania’s leading defence partner.

The US Embassy in Tirana said Ambassador Eric Wendt discussed stronger defence cooperation and enhanced security capabilities during a meeting with Defence Minister Ermal Nufi.

The meeting focused on strengthening operational readiness through Albania’s 25-year partnership with the New Jersey National Guard. The sides also discussed expanding NATO capabilities and Albania’s contribution to the International Stabilization Force for Gaza (ISF).

“The strength of our alliance is demonstrated through concrete action,” the embassy said. It highlighted efforts to strengthen operational readiness through the 25-year partnership with the New Jersey National Guard, expand NATO capabilities and support global security through Albania’s vital contribution to the International Stabilization Force for Gaza (ISF).
