Nufi: Training Young Recruits Key to a Professional Armed Force

Defense Minister Ermal Nufi visited the Professional Military Training Center in Bunavi, Vlorë, on Monday to meet young recruits, cadets, students, instructors and center officials.
Accompanied by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji, Nufi highlighted the center’s role in preparing the next generation of military personnel. He stressed that training builds not only military skills but also discipline, responsibility, character and teamwork.
“Your military uniform is your lifelong privilege, your pride and your honor,” Nufi told the trainees, emphasizing their commitment to serving the country.
He also called for continuous training and high professional standards, saying Albania needs skilled military personnel who can operate according to NATO standards and respond to a rapidly changing security environment. He stressed that the Armed Forces must invest in their people alongside modernizing their capabilities.
Last week, 78 students enrolled in the Officer Preparation Course began a 10-week training program, while 80 bachelor’s students started a five-week course.
The Bunavi center plays a key role in basic and advanced military training, preparing recruits and cadets for military service and their future responsibilities.
