The year 2024 begins with the finalization of the project of the Central State Film Archive for the publication of the book “The Beginnings of Cinema in the Albanian Territories (1897 – 1945), authored by researcher Abaz Hoxha and prepared for publication by Berk Publications.

The book of 244 pages is a short bilingual manual, providing in a synthetic way the development of cinematography, but also photography and theater in Albania, during the years 1897-1945.

The book contains previous and reworked studies of the author and previously unpublished research works too. This interesting and informative book for all those who want to learn about the history of cinematography in Albania is important in terms of the beginnings of the Albanian cinema and the social-political influences that shaped it. According to Central Film Archive, the book is also expected to be released soon in electronic format (e-book).
