Rama Condemns Protest Damage at European College, Warns of Legal Consequences

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has condemned the damage caused during the protest in Tirana, saying the destruction at the European College building was not the work of students.
In a video message posted on social media, Rama showed the damaged premises, which previously housed the European College of Tirana, an institution linked to the vision of a united Europe.
He stressed that students remain welcome and that the government is ready to engage in dialogue, discuss their concerns and seek solutions.
However, Rama accused the opposition of using violence to undermine Albania’s progress towards European Union membership. He said the damaged building had become a symbol of the challenges facing the country during the latest unrest.
“Students are the future,” Rama said, adding that Albania would continue on its European path despite the violence.
Meanwhile, the prime minister warned that everyone involved in the destruction would be held accountable under the law. He insisted that Albania would not return to its past and would continue pursuing its European ambitions.
Rama described the situation as difficult but expressed confidence that the country would overcome the crisis and move forward towards EU membership.
