Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to the ongoing protests by sharing an image of a road sign that protesters had knocked to the ground.

Young people had earlier written a message in English on the sign: “I’ll never STOP loving you Albania.”

Commenting on the image, Rama reaffirmed his love for the country and expressed confidence in Albania’s future.

“I loved Albania unreservedly when it had been brought to its knees, and I love it just as much today, when no force in the world can bring it to its knees again,” Rama wrote.

Meanwhile, protests by university students and secondary school pupils have continued for several days in Tirana and other Albanian cities. The demonstrations have included incidents of violence and vandalism targeting public and private property, businesses and state institutions.
