“Mulberry House” Opens in Drenova to Preserve Albania’s Traditional Brandy-Making

Drenova has opened “Mulberry House,” a new space dedicated to the village’s traditional production of mulberry brandy.
Korçë Mayor Sotiraq Filo announced the initiative, which forms part of the “Flavours of the Region” project, a partnership between the Albanian Development Fund and Korçë Municipality. The project aims to create new spaces where local villages can produce and promote their traditional goods. Earlier, the initiative established “Cherry House” in Qatrom village.
In Drenova, authorities renovated and restored an existing school to house a brandy museum, a production laboratory and fruit-processing facilities. The site also includes spaces to sell and promote local products. Meanwhile, the municipality has renovated the main square, creating venues for workshops, fairs, markets and community events.
Filo said the initiative would help preserve local traditions while strengthening tourism. By promoting the distinctive products of Korçë’s villages, the project aims to support local producers and bring visitors closer to the region’s flavours and hospitality.
