Vllaznia defeated Tirana 2-0 in the latest edition of Albanian football’s classic derby on Friday, while Elbasani held league leaders Teuta to a goalless draw in the eighth round of the Abissnet Superiore.

Vllaznia took control early and broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute through Edon Murataj. Tirana pushed for an equaliser after the break, but Adnard Mehemeti doubled Vllaznia’s lead in the 68th minute to secure all three points.

The win lifted Vllaznia to eight points, while Tirana remained on 11.

In the other fixture, Elbasani and Teuta failed to find the net despite efforts from both sides. The draw kept Teuta top of the table with 20 points, while Elbasani moved to eight points. The match also marked Glen Daja’s debut as Elbasani’s head coach.
