Tirana fair draws 300 companies, targets 5,000 business deals

This year, the fair covers 8,000 square metres and features companies from more than 12 countries. Foreign businesses make up 60% of exhibitors, while Albanian companies account for the remaining 40%. Organisers expect around 5,000 business meetings over four days.
Klik Ekspo Group organises the event. Government officials, diplomats, business leaders and chambers of commerce also take part. Over the years, the fair has become an important platform for trade, investment and international cooperation.
At the opening ceremony, Luel Muhametaj, General Manager of the Tirana International Fair, highlighted the value of business cooperation. He said the fair creates opportunities for dialogue, trade and investment, especially amid global uncertainty.
This year’s programme includes five specialised exhibitions. TIF Power focuses on energy, infrastructure and construction. TIF Explore promotes tourism and hospitality. TIF Agro showcases agriculture and food production. Meanwhile, TIF Tech presents technology and digital innovation. The Gallery of Nations brings together international companies and business delegations.
Energy sector attracts new investment
Infrastructure and Energy Minister Enea Karakaçi highlighted Albania’s progress in the energy sector. He pointed to rising investment and efforts to increase domestic electricity production.
Over the past five years, Albania has added around 650 megawatts of solar capacity. Solar energy now accounts for about 11% of domestic electricity production.
Furthermore, the government plans to launch a new auction for more than 300 megawatts of wind power. It expects to hold the auction by the end of 2026 or early 2027, with support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The project will also include battery storage.
Meanwhile, Austrian company VERBUND has started building a wind farm with an estimated capacity of 75 megawatts.
Agriculture seeks new markets
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Andis Salla described the fair as an opportunity for Albanian producers to attract investment and reach new markets.
He stressed the importance of modern technology, European standards and stronger investment. The government continues to support farmers through national schemes, direct payments and sovereign guarantees.
In addition, more than 33 agricultural cooperation companies have been established with support from local municipalities. The ministry is also considering an agricultural products exchange. This initiative could improve price transparency and connect producers with buyers.
International companies boost regional cooperation
Italy has a strong presence at the fair, with more than 70 companies from Puglia, Lazio, Campania, Veneto and Marche. The Italian Trade Agency, Unioncamere Puglia and regional institutions support their participation.
The companies present products, technology and engineering services. They focus particularly on construction, design and manufacturing.
German and Austrian businesses also showcase their work in construction, mechanical engineering, agriculture and logistics.
Meanwhile, companies from Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo represent the Western Balkans. More than 50 regional businesses are taking part.
Representatives from Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina also called for stronger economic ties across the Adriatic.
Business opportunities and support for young people
Organisers expect around 5,000 business meetings between exhibitors, buyers, importers and investors. These meetings aim to create new partnerships and turn contacts into commercial opportunities.
The fair also promotes social responsibility through its “TIF for the Community” initiative. The programme supports paid internships, professional training and financial education. It also helps community organisations and promotes book donations and equipment reuse.
Furthermore, the National Skills Competition gives young people a chance to demonstrate their abilities. It also helps them connect with employers and training opportunities.
Overall, the Tirana International Fair aims to attract investment, strengthen business cooperation and open new markets for Albanian companies. It also seeks to position Albania as a stronger trade and investment destination in the region.
