The tourist village of Rehova returns to the set of the Italian director

The Municipality of Kolonja announces that, during these cold days, the well-known tourist village of Rehova has turned into a filming location. The Italian director Guilia Grandinetti is shooting a film which deals with the love story between an Albanian girl and a Serbian boy, a relationship that encounters difficulties but ends at the altar.

Rehova was chosen quite randomly by the Italian director. She had come to Albania to choose the right place to shoot this film.

A defect in her vehicle in Erseka was enough to choose this city but much more Rehova, known as the ideal shooting location for her film.

The director has chosen an Italian girl to play the Albanian character, also due to the fact that the characters are almost the same, and the main actress of the film, Caterina Bagnulo, also admits when she said that, precisely because of this similarity of characters, she willingly accepted this role.

While in the role of the girl’s father, Julian Jashari, from Kolonja, has been chosen, an architect by profession, but who has convinced the filmmakers that his character fits well as a patriarchal Albanian father.

Rehova is 2 km from Erseka and is surrounded by a crown of 23 churches. Rehova has been declared a protected Historical Center by decision of the Council of Ministers, approved on January 25, 2017. Nowaday, the village of Rehova is known throughout the country for its craftsmanship, hospitality, special cuisine, beauty and rich heritage.
