The first meeting of the new jury started the next edition of the Kadare Literary Award, the most prestigious awards given in Albania in artistic literature, in the genre of prose.

The tenth anniversary of the Kadare Literary Prize gathers familiar names again. Authors, translators, literary critics and playwrights will choose the best prose in the Albanian language.

Nasi Lera, storyteller and translator of the most famous novelists in world literature, will be of chairman of this jury, consisting of five members.

The tradition that continues for the tenth consecutive year, to which the well-known Albanian writer Ismail Kadare entrusted his name, puts the emphasis on Albanian prose and authors, who, regardless of where they live and create, write in Albanian.

In 2023, the award was given to the teacher from North Macedonia, Nurie Emrullai, the youngest among the winners, for the novel “Duhet të jetë Dashuri ” /It Should Be Love/.
