Begaj and Radev attend the premiere of “Callas and Onassis” in Sofia

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and his Albanian counterpart Bajram Begaj, together with their wives Desislava Radeva and Armanda Begaj, attended the premiere in Sofia of the musical operetta “Callas and Onassis” shown on the evening of December 13 in hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture”, announced the Bulgarian news agency, BTA.

Soloists, choir and ballet of the State Opera of Varna, as well as the orchestra and choir of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet of Albania took part in the performance.

“I am very happy to be here, together with the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Albania, because music has no borders, no passports and customs. We have this expression – you cannot celebrate without friends and we are very happy to be here precisely to celebrate the New Year”, said the director of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet of Albania, Abigela Voshchina before the start of the show.

“Bulgaria and Albania have a long cultural relationship and I hope it will continue and develop even more in the future. We will not stop until we make our theaters absolutely international through music and amazing fast pace,” she said.

“Callas and Onassis” is composed by Christos Papageorgiou, who lives and works in New York. It combines sirtaki, jazz, classical opera arias and a typical musical sound.
