The National Theater of Opera and Ballet will soon bring the opera “Carmen” to art lovers.

The month of December will come with the drama of the life of a woman who challenged social rules and disregarded the traditions of that time, thus opening the December Artistic Calendar with one of the masterpieces of world opera.

“Carmen” is the work of Georges Bizet, which crossed the boundaries of traditional theater and touched the hearts of art lovers.

The story begins in the city of Seville, where a noble soldier, Don José, meets Carmen, a passionate and free girl who provokes Don José’s feelings, following a chain of events that will shake the social rules and lead to the bad luck of both protagonists.

What is the price of freedom? This is one of the existential questions that the spectator will raise while watching this play which will be staged on December 8, 9, 10 and 11, at the Opera House
