Begaj on the 145th anniversary of the Albanian League of Prizren: It was projected to create a free and independent Albanian state

In the central manifestation on the 145th anniversary of the Albanian League of Prizren, held in the memorial complex that commemorates the event in Prizren of Kosova, at the presence of the highest authorities of Kosova, Albanian president Begaj said that visionary patriots united to create a pan-Albanian resistance against oppression and rule.
President Bajram Begaj described the Albanian League of Prizren as one of the extraordinary events in the history of the Albanian nation.
“It was this League that worked with all its might to affirm our nation and to oppose the fragmentation of Albanian ethnic lands. It was this covenant that projected the creation of an Albanian state — free and independent. Today, as it turns 145 years since the foundation of the Albanian League of Prizren, we honor with pride the glorious deed of those who dreamed (the freedom) and worked for our Albanian nation,” said Begaj.
The President pointed out, feelings of pride are not enough.
“We have the responsibility to respect and protect the heritage that these historical figures left us as a legacy. The development and empowerment of the Albanian people in all its lands and our integration into the great Euro-Atlantic family is a mission for which we must all work together. In order to fulfill this obligation, we are lucky that our forefathers, in addition to language and culture, also inherited old friendships and reliable strategic partners, on whom we can and should always rely on,” he emphasized.
Not everything has been easy, but the future of our nation will be more and more prosperous, President Begaj pointed out, while underscoring the need of Albanians to fight the divisions and divisions among themselves, among one and other, while maintaining proper moral axis, and to always remember the past and convey to the new generation the values of patriotism and friendship, the values of peace and unity.
