The Academy of Albanological Studies and the University of Prishtina signed in Prishtina the annex to the agreement for cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research.

This is a concrete step that the parties take after the talks and the agreement signed on November 18, 2022 to create a strategy on the transmission of knowledge to new generations, in the fields of Albanology, with the aim to update and enrich knowledge with new Albanological theses.

The Academy of Albanological Studies sees the University of Prishtina as the main partner for the development of advanced knowledge in the fields of Albanology both in Kosova and Albania.

Said Albanian Academy, headed by Rector Luan Përzhita signed the document with the Rector of the University of Pristina, Qerim Qerimi. Main points of agreement include creation of working groups for the design of joint strategic projects in the field of Albanology – namely in the field of archaeology, socio-cultural anthropology, history and linguistics; building joint programs in Master’s and Doctorate studies in the field of Albanology – archaeology, social-cultural anthropology, history, linguistics; creation of a joint platform for the exchange of academic staff between the two institutions as well as joint research on cultural heritage in Kosova and Albania.

This annex observes the intergovernmental agreements between Kosova and Albania, related to the field of education and cultural heritage and the respective regulatory acts (statutes, regulations, strategies of each institution).

Academy of Albanology Studies have set a further step to closely cooperate the Kosova institutions on the given field.

After the two years before signature and renewal cooperation memoranda with the Albanology Institute of Prishtina and based on them, joint activities have been developed between the three centers of Albanian science in Tirana, Pristina and Shkup/Skopje.

The signing of the cooperation agreement between the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” and the Academy of Albanology Studies of Albania was also welcomed by the Prime Minister of Kosova, Albin Kurti.
