Today, the National Theater commemorated the renowned actor Agim Qirjaqi on the anniversary of his birth.

Born on January 27, 1951, in Kolonje, Qirjaqi graduated from the High Institute of Arts in Tirana and began his distinguished career at the National Theater in 1973. Throughout his career, he brought to life a wide array of iconic roles in both Albanian and international theater, including performances in “Familja e Peshkatarit,” “Orët e Kremlinit,” “Hijet e Natës,” “Rikardi III,” “Fando e Lis,” “Marrëzia e Madhështisë,” “Këngëtarja Tullace,” and “Armiku i Popullit.”

In the 2002-2003 artistic season, Qirjaqi also served as the director of the National Theater.

He carved his place in the hearts of audiences with memorable characters on both stage and screen, becoming a proud figure in Albanian culture and cinema. In recognition of his contributions, Qirjaqi was honored with the title of “Artist i Merituar” and, posthumously, the prestigious “Nderi i Kombit” decoration. Some of his most memorable cinematic roles include the director in “Lulëkuqe mbi Mure,” the professor in “Apasionata,” the comedian in “Tela për Violinë,” and Ethemi in “I Dashur Armik.”

Agim Qirjaqi passed away on March 28, 2010, leaving behind an enduring legacy in Albanian art and culture.
