Albania and Kuwait: Strong Ties and Growing Tourism

Albania celebrated the 65th anniversary of independence and Kuwait’s 35th Liberation Day with an official reception. Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, attended the event.
On social media, Balla highlighted the strong relations between the two countries and the growing number of Kuwaiti tourists visiting Albania. He shared images from the national celebrations in Kuwait.
The event marked Kuwait’s independence from the British protectorate on June 19, 1961, though celebrations are held earlier due to high summer temperatures. The reception also honored the anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah’s accession to the throne in 1950, the first emir after independence.
Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, also attended. He said Albania and Kuwait share strong friendship and cooperation. He added that there is great potential to deepen relations based on mutual respect and shared development interests.
Gonxhja stated, “We remain committed to strengthening dialogue and expanding bilateral cooperation, including in tourism, culture, and sports.”
