The Academy of Sciences expressed condolences today on the passing of Robert Papavrami.

The Permanent Commission of Arts at the Academy offered deep sympathy to the world-famous violinist Tedi Papavrami. He lost his father and teacher, Robert Papavrami.

Moreover, the Academy stated that the Albanian violin school feels this loss deeply. However, they find comfort knowing that Robert’s artistic legacy lives on. This legacy continues through Tedi’s achievements. The Academy wished Tedi a long life and encouraged him to honor his father’s memory.

Robert Papavrami was a leading figure in Albanian music. He grew up in a traditional family where duty was important.

From a young age, Robert showed great passion as a violinist. Later, he became a teacher and trained many students for decades.

After moving to France, Robert opened a school. There, he kept discovering and training new violin talents.

Many of his students have made their debut and gained recognition worldwide.

One of his most famous students is his son, Tedi Papavrami. Today, Tedi is a violinist known around the globe.

In November 2014, Prime Minister Edi Rama honored Robert Papavrami. He received a medal for his long-standing contribution to Albanian art.

At a special event in the Hall of Maps, friends, family, collaborators, and former students shared memories. They expressed gratitude for what Professor Berti, as he was lovingly called, meant to many generations of Albanian musicians.
