Albania-Kosova: Strengthening Cooperation Between Police Forces

General Director of the Albanian State Police, Ilir Proda, today welcomed General Director of the Kosovan Police, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, and leaders of special units from the Kosova Police at the Albanian State Police HQ.
The visit focused on strengthening cooperation between the two police forces and exchanging best practices and experiences.
During the meeting, both sides agreed on the need for comprehensive, barrier-free collaboration, with plans for enhanced cooperation during the summer season of 2025.
They also agreed to increase the number of joint investigative teams and coordinated police operations to combat arms trafficking, drug trafficking, and human trafficking.
Following the meeting, the Kosova Police delegation visited the Special Unit “RENEA” and the National Security Force, Unit Tirana.
The delegation was warmly received and honored by the leaders and staff of the two special units.
These visits were designed to give the Kosova Police a closer look at the organization, experiences, and methodologies used by these important units of the Albanian State Police, particularly in search-and-rescue operations, emergency management, counter-terrorism efforts, and hostage situations.
