Albania police chief Hita seeks stronger cooperation with international partners

Albania’s State Police Director General Skënder Hita held a series of meetings with senior law enforcement officials from partner countries during the European Police Chiefs Convention. The talks focused on strengthening police cooperation, information sharing and operational coordination.
Hita met the directors general of the state police forces of Italy, Spain and Finland, as well as Slovenia’s acting director general and the Netherlands’ police commissioner. He also met a senior official from the US Diplomatic Security Service, the director general of the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency and senior law enforcement representatives from Sweden, Israel and Moldova.
Hita expressed the State Police’s readiness to deepen cooperation through timely information sharing, operational coordination and joint investigations. The cooperation will focus in particular on organised crime, cybercrime, terrorism and cross-border crime. His counterparts praised the State Police’s contribution to joint efforts against crime and expressed readiness to further strengthen relations. Hita said international crime required a common and rapid response, with cooperation supported by Europol, Interpol and other law enforcement agencies.
