The Central State Film Archive today honored actor Xhevdet Ferri on what would have been his 65th birthday. He remains one of Albania’s most beloved figures in cinema and theater.

Ferri captivated audiences with his unforgettable roles and stage presence. His talent brought emotion, strength, and nuance to every character. The Archive highlighted his impact on Albanian culture and his enduring legacy.

He passed away on 16 January 2020 at the age of 59. During his career, he played around 30 roles in theater and cinema, gaining wider recognition through film.

Some of his notable roles include Trimi in A Tale from the Past (1987), Sako in Sako’s Wedding (1998), Martin in The Train Leaves at Five to Seven (1988), the truck driver in Gjoleka – Abazi’s Son (2006), and Gjon in Years of Waiting (1989). His last role was in The Delegation (2018).

Fans and the film community remember him for the emotion he brought to every performance and for characters that continue to live in the collective memory.
