Albania will host the European Political Community Summit on May 16 in Tirana, gathering European leaders for high-level discussions on key continental issues.

Prime Minister Edi Rama visited the ongoing preparations at the “House of Europe,” located beneath the monument of national hero Skanderbeg in the capital’s central square. He described it as a symbolic venue where “leaders from across the continent will gather under Skanderbeg’s shadow.”

Skanderbeg Square, surrounded by institutions of culture and governance, reflects Albania’s democratic transformation and its European aspirations. The venue will also display artwork created by Albanian schoolchildren through the national “Art, Craft, Sport” program.

The Summit will focus on four key themes: democratic security and resilience; economic security and competitiveness; migration, mobility, and youth empowerment; and Europe’s strategic leadership in a changing world.

Albania’s role as host underscores its growing European commitment and regional leadership. As a NATO member and EU candidate country, Albania is well positioned to foster dialogue at a crucial moment for European unity.

A day ahead of the summit, EU and European Council leaders will hold a working dinner with Western Balkan counterparts in Tirana.
