Albania–Türkiye selects five joint research projects for funding

Five joint scientific research projects between Albanian and Turkish universities have been selected for funding under the 2026–2028 Albania–Türkiye Bilateral Call.

The projects will give new impetus to cooperation in scientific research and innovation.

Education Minister Mirela Kumbaro announced that the National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation (AKKSHI) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) selected the projects.

The projects will promote joint research and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise. They will also strengthen the capacities of researchers and academic institutions in both countries.

According to Kumbaro, these partnerships will further expand Albania’s international research ties. At the same time, they will create new bridges with Türkiye’s scientific community.

Moreover, Albania–Türkiye cooperation aims to support the participation of Albanian institutions in international research networks and the European Research Area. In this way, the partnership will promote academic exchange and foster innovation.
