Albania, U.S. Strengthen Strategic Intelligence Partnership

The Director of Albania’s State Intelligence Service (SHISH), Vlora Hyseni, made an official visit to Washington, D.C., from May 15 to 17. She met with senior officials from the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the State Department, and the CIA. The visit focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and the strategic partnership between Albania and the U.S.
Hyseni met with Tulsi Gabbard, Director of U.S. National Intelligence. They discussed intelligence and security cooperation, as well as shared national security challenges. Both sides exchanged views on regional and international security issues. They reaffirmed their commitment to collective security and praised SHISH as a reliable partner. They also recognized Albania’s role as a stabilizing force in the region.
Hyseni also met with John Ratcliffe, Director of the CIA. They discussed several bilateral cooperation topics. Both sides highlighted their strong partnership and joint efforts to identify and prevent shared threats. They also exchanged views on global and regional security. The meeting emphasized the need to deepen cooperation and strengthen intelligence capabilities.
The SHISH press release stated that the visit shows both agencies’ commitment to providing high-quality and timely intelligence. Their goal is to support strategic decision-makers and help ensure regional and global security.
