“The Grand Master”, acrobat Vitore Sallaku, has passed away. She has been assessed as one of the icons of acrobatics and the Albanian circus. Vitore Sallaku offered her contribution, not only as an artist, but also as a lecturer and writer. She could entertain audiences, performing feats of balance, coordination, and agility, also displaying extreme flexibility, strength, and grace, featurng her particular skills and artistry.

The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti has shared the sad news on social networks.

“A rare, energetic woman, a talented artist, one of the founders of the Albanian Circus, passes away. Acrobat Vitore Sallaku has left behind so many beautiful memories and has given to people so much joy that this is only a physical departure! She was and will remain a school for the younger generations“, writes Margariti.

As one of the most prominent acrobats in the circus arena, Vitore Sallaku was honored in October 2021 by the still incumbent President, Ilir Meta with the title “Grand Master”.
