Albanian animation marks its 50th anniversary this year.

A commemorative event honored the art form and those who contributed to its development. The Central State Film Archive (AQSHF) supported the event with archival documents and film footage.

Eljan Tanini, head of AQSHF, called the anniversary more than a celebration. He said it is a return to the roots of Albanian film creativity, where vision, irony, character, and poetry shaped animation over the decades.

The AQSHF collection preserves valuable materials. These help keep the history authentic and give life to the figures who built this tradition with passion and vision.

During the event, creators, animators, researchers, and supporters of Albanian animation were recognized. Their efforts continue to keep the legacy alive.
