Albanian Committee for Foreign Policy conducted a working visit to North Macedonia

A delegation from the Commission for Foreign Policy, led by the Head of Committee Mimi Kodheli and comprising members Blendi Klosi, Etjen Xhafaj, and Hatixe Konomi, carried out a working visit to the Assembly of North Macedonia.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi, welcomed the delegation and assessed the relations between the two countries at the utmost level. This sentiment was also affirmed in discussions with the Foreign Minister, Bujar Osmani.
Xhaferi provided an overview of the political landscape in North Macedonia, primarily addressing constitutional changes, economic factors, and regional cooperation between both nations. The Albanian Parliament delegation extended congratulations to Xhaferi for his proposed role as Prime Minister of the technical government, scheduled to commence operations in January of the following year.
The commission was invited to a special meeting by the counterpart commission led by Antonijo Milloshoski. During the meeting, discussions focused on matters of bilateral cooperation, regional dialogue, and the forthcoming steps in the EU accession process.
Regarding the shared journey towards EU accession, the participants expressed a viewpoint that while the separation of North Macedonia from Albania might occur at a later stage, both countries have progressed at a similar pace in terms of their political development
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani, highlighted the significance of the upcoming day for both our countries, as the outcomes of the meeting in Brussels will be revealed.
During the visit to the Assembly, the delegation was additionally welcomed by the North Macedonia-Albania Friendship Group.
