Albanian director and actor Mario Banushi, 27, will present his latest play, “Mami”, at the city theater in Espoo, Finland. The play is dedicated to mothers.

Banushi’s works, whether created or performed abroad, carry titles fully or partly in Albanian, including “Pranvera”, “Goodbye Lindita”, “Taverna Mirësia Mario Bella Anastasia”, and “Mami”.

Mario Banushi was born in Albania and grew up in Greece. His works have been performed across Europe, including in Greece, Albania, Italy, France, and Germany.

Despite his young age, Banushi has collaborated with prominent Greek artists with international activity. He assisted artist Euripid Laskaridis in the performance THIRÍO at the Athens Biennale in 2018. In 2020, he directed Pranvera, his first short film, which premiered at the Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF).

Banushi graduated from the Athens Conservatory Drama School in 2020. He has expanded his training through theater and dance workshops. In 2018, he attended a Commedia dell’Arte workshop.

At the experimental stage of the National Theater, he staged Goodbye Lindita. His third work, “Taverna Mirësia Mario Bella Anastasia”, concluded a trilogy. It premiered in July 2023 at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival.
