The author of the Wedding songs is not known. They are verses that are usually composed or created on the spot by groups of girls, and as such have taken a special place in our popular literature.

Many of those created earlier and not written and collected by any researchers have been completely forgotten and newer songs have taken their place.

They were and are part of the Albanian wedding ritual, which on the one hand express joy, excitement, sorrow or sadness, while on the other hand they serve to communicate the bride and groom among themselves.

The language used in wedding songs and their body movements can otherwise be described as a system of symbols through which they communicate with each other. All these rituals are included in the songs created and sung by groups of girls, who as in a choir, accompany each other.

There were and still are songs dedicated to the bride, groom, mother-in-law and father-in-law. Through such songs, they communicate with the audience and at the same time the wedding becomes more joyful.
