Albanians in Lugina ( Presheva Valley), head of the National Council: Passivation of addresses is a big challenge! The goal, ethnic cleansing
Chairman of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley, Nevzad Lutfiu, said that the Albanians there are facing discrimination from the Serbian state, due to their ethnicity.
In a Skype connection for RTSH24, Lutfiu said that they face many challenges, singling out the passivation of addresses, which, according to him, is aimed at ethnic cleansing in the Presheva Valley.
“Discrimination continues by the Serbian state against Albanians in the Presheva Valley. According to the latest statistics, there are more than 100,000 Albanians in Serbia, and the biggest challenge is the passivation of addresses, a negative phenomenon aimed at ethnic cleansing in the Presheva Valley,” said Lutfiu.
According to the Law on residence and place of residence in Serbia, the passivation of the address is an indication that the person does not live at the address of the registered permanent or temporary residence.
Another challenge, according to the head of the Albanian National Council in the Presheva Valley, is non-recognition of the diplomas of young people who have studied in Kosova. He emphasizes that this has impacted on young people leaving the Presheva Valley.
“Ignoring of the diplomas of young people who have studied in Kosova, (is) a phenomenon that has influenced the young people of the Presheva Valley to leave. We have a mass emigration of all layers of society. Our situation can only be resolved with a final agreement between Kosova and Serbia. The more time we waste on trying to resolve the issues, the more people we lose here. We have massive departures, the number of young people who leave is extremely large”, he said.
