Ali Ahmeti Comments Ahead of Tirana Protest Supporting Former KLA Leaders

Ali Ahmeti, leader of the BDI party in North Macedonia, spoke ahead of tomorrow’s protest in Tirana. The demonstration centers on supporting former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), who are facing trial at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
In a media interview, Ahmeti called the protest an important act. It raises voices against what he described as a major injustice against the KLA.
Asked whether a similar protest might take place in Skopje, Ahmeti said it is only a matter of time. “We are in discussions with KLA veterans. They are likely in contact with veterans’ associations in Kosovo. It’s just a matter of when it will happen,” he said.
Ahmeti stressed that the protest is not political. It has a nationwide character, uniting everyone who shares solidarity with former KLA fighters.
“We even postponed our campaign because of the protest. We are all KLA. This protest does not unite a political group. It unites the Kosovo Liberation Army, raising its voice against the great injustice done to our army. All activities for tomorrow are on hold because this protest has a national dimension, sending clear messages to the tribunal that the KLA is not a criminal enterprise but a liberation organization,” Ahmeti said.
He accused the prosecution of diverting the case with unfounded charges and fabricated evidence.
“The trial shifted to cases created by interested and malicious witnesses, and this angered us greatly. Prosecutors diverted the case from the ‘yellow house’ to cases fabricated by people with bad intentions, also motivated by Serbian intelligence services,” he added.
The protest in Tirana is expected to serve as a public call for justice. It will bring together citizens from different Albanian regions to support former KLA fighters.
