The meeting of the American special envoy Gabriel Escobar with the Kosovar opposition leaders ended around 21:00. It is learned that this meeting, which took place at the residence of American Ambassador Jeff Hovenier, started at 19:00. He met the chairman of PDK, Memli Krasniqi, the chairman of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku and the chairman of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj.

Escobar comes to Kosovo in a tense situation, which has become even deeper, after the failure to reach an agreement in Brussels, where Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Aleksandar Vucic met last week.

Tomorrow at 16:00 at the EU Office in Pristina, emissary Miroslav Lajcak will host the meeting with the opposition. A representative of the EU Office will be together with Lajcak, while the American side Gabriel Escobar and Ambassador Jeff Hovenier will also be invited.

From the opposition will be PDK, LDK and AAK, respectively Memli Krasniqi and an official of PDK, Lumir Abdixhiku with an official from LDK and Ramush Haradinaj, accompanied by an official of AAK. The opposition leaders had a similar meeting at the American embassy where they were invited to dinner with the US envoy for dialogue, Gabriel Escobar.

Two EU and US emissaries are staying in the region to try to reach an agreement on license plates and travel documents. After Pristina, on Thursday, they will be hosted in Belgrade.
